Como todos los domingos, os traemos un éxito de la lista americana de música Billboard, y en concreto de la lista HOT 100. La canción de hoy es «Suit & Tie» de Justin Timberlake y Jay Z. Esta semana está en el número 5 de la lista, lleva un total de 9 semanas en la lista y la semana pasada estuvo en la posición número 8.
Creemos que es una forma muy entretenida y eficaz de aprender vocabulario y afianzar lo que ya se sabe de un idioma, en este caso del inglés. Si estás haciendo un curso de inglés u otro idioma, te aconsejamos que escuches música en ese idioma y que intentes descifrar el significado de lo que se dice. En muchas ocasiones ocurre que, pasen los años que pasen, siempre recuerdas la letra de una canción que te gustó mucho y que te aprendiste la letra. Puede ser un buen recurso para aprender, memorizar y recordar.
Esta canción tiene un vocabulario muy coloquial y de la calle, conocido como slang. Utiliza muchas contracciones y expresiones hechas, por lo que aprenderás palabras y frases que realmente se utilizan a diario. Presta especial atención a la frase «as long as«, ya que su uso denota que dominas más o menos el idioma y da calidad a lo que dices. En esta ocasión no os traemos ningún phrasal verb, pero hay algunas formas gramaticales que son realmente útiles.
